  • Education: Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Computer Science or Engineering, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics preferred.  Progress towards professional designation (CFA, CAIA, etc.) a plus. 
  • Experience: Two to six years of relevant professional experience in accounting, actuarial science, finance and/or investments, with experience desired in financial modeling and/or risk management.  Areas of expertise include accounting, actuarial science, computer science/engineering, finance, investments, operations, and/or risk management area at the national level. Experience with exchange traded derivatives and fixed income trading a plus. 
  • Languages: Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Spanish and another Bank official language is desirable.
  • Core and Technical Competencies: Proficiency in Excel (macros), financial modeling and/or statistics, investment analysis, MS Word and Power point. Computer language/coding experience desired.
  • Submission Requirements:  In less than 1 page, answer BOTH of the following two (2) questions, and provide citation(s) for any sources used:
    • What investment considerations are most important for a well-funded pension plan that is open to new entrants, whose benefit payments include cost of living adjustments (COLA) and whose sponsor follows U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)?
    • How would you calculate performance and risk for a defined benefit pension plan?

Payment and Conditions: Compensation will be determined in accordance with Bank’s policies and procedures. The Bank, pursuant to applicable policies, may contribute toward travel and moving expenses. In addition, candidates must be citizens of an IDB member country.
Visa and Work Permit: The Bank, pursuant to applicable policies, may submit a visa request to the applicable immigration authorities; however, the granting of the visa is at the discretion of the immigration authorities. Notwithstanding, it is the responsibility of the candidate to obtain the necessary visa or work permits required by the authorities of the country(ies) in which the services will be rendered to the Bank. If a candidate cannot obtain a visa or work permit to render services to the Bank the contractual offer will be rescinded
