What you’ll need:

Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Education: Master's degree [or equivalent] in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or other relevant field. CFA, FRM, or CPA designation is desirable.

Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience in risk management, finance, or related areas. Experience leading teams or projects at international financial institutions is highly valued. Other skills include:

  • outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with a clear ability to contribute to the risk management process through creative thinking and in-depth and disciplined analyses;
  • proven ability to apply broad and deep knowledge of financial markets, products, and processes to address the risks of multi-currency Bank portfolios;
  • seasoned in the use of financial and risk management models and tools;
  • knowledge of relevant banking regulation, including regulatory frameworks such as Basel;
  • knowledge and proven experience assessing internal controls over financial reporting using of internal control frameworks such as COSO/COBIT;
  • proven ability to lead project teams and risk management functions;
  • ability to draft well-written, coherent analyses and proposals to senior management and to engage senior decision-makers on complex risk issues; and

Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish required. Knowledge of Portuguese and/or French desirable.
