Education: You hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field. CFA may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree, provided you hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the above-mentioned areas.

Experience: You have a minimum of ten (10) years of financial markets experience (covering Fixed Income, Capital Markets and Derivatives treasury operations experience) with at least seven (7) years in Asset Liability Management.

Language: You are fluent in English and in a second language of the Bank (Spanish, Portuguese, and/or French). 

Functional and technical expertise: Advanced understanding of cause and effect of market conditions and how they relate to the IDB’s assets, liabilities and derivatives. Strong knowledge of derivatives and fixed-income markets to price and hedge risk exposure. We are looking for candidates with proven expertise in (i) conducting independent analysis of data and information to validate the appropriateness of models being applied and to confirm the reasonableness of results generated, (ii) making sound recommendations based on thorough understanding of financial market dynamics and risk profile, (iii) debating and presenting recommendations to a broad audience. You should be proficient in the use of Bloomberg and the Microsoft Office suite. Experience in design, implementation and operation of capital markets software (such as Summit, QRM, Numerix) will be considered a plus.
