What you’ll need:
  • Citizenship:  You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.  
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group. 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in economics, international relations, or transport geography. Master’s preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience in trade policy, trade facilitation and logistics, investment attraction and services exports. Preference for experience in working with the IDB group and/or IDB operations. Experience in working with Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname and /or Guyana public and private institutions is desirable, or any other public institution in the Caribbean. Project management for development programmes considered an asset. PMP certification an asset.
  • Languages: English is mandatory, preference for Dutch.
 
Core and Technical Competencies:
The consultant must have a strong background in trade facilitation and investment projects and activities, as well as experience working on with multilateral development banks.
 
Opportunity Summary: 
  • Type of contract and modality: Consultant
  • Length of contract: one (1) year, possible renewal up two (2) more years
  • Starting date: February 1st 2019
  • Location: Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica or Suriname, with significant time spent in each country. Mission expenses will be provided by the Bank separately. The decision on the location will be taken jointly with the IDB, based on business need.
  • Responsible person: Sector Sr Spec - Intg & Trade (INT/TIN) and Intg & Trade Spec (INT/TIN)
  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
