What you will do:

 

Support the COF in the implementation of the several instruments, intervention, initiatives related to the reconstruction efforts of Dorian. You will be responsible for supporting the execution of the diverse instruments, initiatives and interventions, in coordination with the COO, Fiduciary Specialist, OAs and the different external stakeholders.

 

Provide coaching and technical advice/assistance to the CBH team regarding the execution of preparedness, recovery and reconstruction efforts in case of natural disasters.  This will include assisting in:


  • Provide execution support to CBH and the authorities with all the IDB instruments in place to support the execution of preparedness, recovery and reconstruction efforts in case of natural disasters.
  • Provide execution support and guidance on prioritization, strategic and planning support, roadmap, etc. Including its documentation. 
  • Provide execution support to CBH in implementing the instruments geared towards understanding the extent of infrastructure losses, and the causes of infrastructure failure, asset loss, and service disruption.
  • Provide execution support to CBH in implementing the instruments geared towards the identification of improvements in infrastructure governance, including aspects of codes and standards, design, financing, management, maintenance, and standard operating procedures that could strengthen disaster and climate resilience. 
  • Provide execution support in implementing the instruments geared towards in devising a strategy for the reconstruction of damaged and destroyed infrastructure and the restoration of critical services. 
  • Support CBH in the documentation of the processes, lessons learned, and integration disaster and climate resilience considerations.
  • Provide technical advice/assistance to CBH and stakeholder meetings regarding execution of preparedness, recovery and reconstruction efforts in case of natural disasters. 
  • Support training and know-how dissemination regarding execution of preparedness, recovery and reconstruction efforts in case of natural disasters to other CBH relevant members and authorities.

Prepare a final report, which includes a summary of the activities conducted, assistance provided, results achieved, and recommendations for next steps and the future.   

 

What you’ll need:

 

Citizenship:   You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.  

 

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group. 

 

Education: Master’s degree in one of the following: Master of Science, engineering, geology, risk assessment and disaster prevention, business administration and project management.

 

Experience: Minimum of 5years of relevant professional experience and experience, including conducting disaster risk management, climate change and territorial planning, experience in the development and implementation of projects for disaster risk reduction and adaptation to climate change, emergency plans and contingency. Knowledge in investment projects and international cooperation  

 

Languages: Fluency in English – written and oral; the presentations and deliverables will be delivered in English

 
Core and Technical Competencies
 

Knowledge and/or experience in applying digital technology and analyzing data; working the public sector; and giving presentations on technical.
