What you’ll need:

 

  • Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Suriname or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Suriname.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: Graduate degree (masters) in Economics, Finance, or related discipline with considerable course work in macroeconomics and quantitative methods (e.g., econometrics and statistics). Familiar with standard techniques of econometrics and use of related software including STATA.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in a related area (could include research assistance in academic setting).
  • Languages: English and Dutch will be an asset.

 

Core and Technical Competencies: Familiar with standard techniques of econometrics and use of related software including STATA. Proficient in use of office software, including MS excel and word, outlook. Well spoken and well written. Able to draft preliminary drafts of sections of publishable work with minimal supervision and editing.

 

Opportunity Summary:

 

  • Type of contract: Full time consultant CNS.
  • Length of contract: 12 months.
  • Starting date: March 2021.
  • Location: IDB Country office Suriname.
  • Responsible person: Economics Senior Specialist – Economics CCB/CSU.
  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
