What you’ll need:
 
  • Citizenship: Citizen of one of our 48-member countries. 
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in anthropology, sociology, or a related field such as international development
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience. Additional experience in involuntary resettlement, or the management of complex social issues and risks.
  • Languages:  Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
 
Core and Technical Competencies:
 

The consultant must have the following competencies in:

 
  • Technical knowledge – knowledge of and experience in implementing the IDB’s various policies relating to environmental and social safeguards.
  • Project Management – experience leading the environmental and social due diligence and supervision of Bank financed projects.
  • Communication, Collaboration and Teamwork – excellent communication skills in English and Spanish with positive experiences collaborating with IDB clients, internal and external.
 

Opportunity Summary: 

 
  • Type of contract: Consultant, Full time.
  • Length of contract: 7 months.
  • Location: The work will be performed at the country office in Buenos Aires, Argentina with mission travel to the country’s projects assigned as per portfolio.
  • Responsible person: Specialist/Senior Specialist with assignment in Buenos Aires, Argentina Country Office from VPS/ESG, and the Chief of Operations of the Argentina Country Office.

In addition, the person will coordinate work plan activities with the Chief of Operations of Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
