What you’ll need:

Education: You hold a master’s degree in agricultural economics, development economics, public policy, agronomy, forestry, or other related fields. A PhD in any of those fields is preferred.  

Experience: At least 8 years of experience leading the design and supervision of public sector loans for specific projects, loans based on policy, and loans based on results.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills in the range of issues of relevance.

Regional Experience. Familiarity with the policy and institutional context of the region’s rural and agricultural development will be an advantage.

Interpersonal Skills. Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and team skills with ability to find balanced, pragmatic, and implementable solutions also in a multi-disciplinary context.

Work in the region. Willingness to live in the region and work under challenging conditions in the region.

Languages: Oral and written proficiency in English and Spanish required; knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is a plus.

Opportunity Summary: 

Type of contract: Fixed term.

Length of contract: 3 years.

Starting date: as soon as possible.

Location: Bolivia and/or Chile

Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
