Skills you’ll need:
- Education: You hold a Bachelor´s degree in economics, engineering or medical sciences. You hold a Master’s degree health care administration/management or other related discipline.
- Experience: You have at least 6 years of relevant and substantive development policy and operational experience.
We would look for you to have:
(i) proven expertise in hospital and health system management, health care network improvement programs;
(ii) proven experience in managing health infrastructure projects.
(iii) extensive field experience in working with governments and other partners in health sector policy strategy formulation as well as experience in supporting implementation of sector modernization efforts in complex environments to achieve greater efficiency of health systems and quality care;
(iv) proven expertise in health sector financing;
(v) knowledge of health digital tools;
- Languages: You are proficient in Spanish and English. Your Portuguese or French knowledge would be a plus.

Opportunity Summary:
Type of contract: Fixed term
Length of contract: 3 years
Location: Initially at Headquarters in Washington D.C. An assignment to one of our country office is to be expected.
Requirements: Candidates must be citizens of one of the IDB’s 48-member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
As international specialist, the selected candidate will be expected to rotate between country assignments every circa 3 to 5 years.
