Research Subject Librarian Consultant

What you’ll need:

• Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group. 
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in information sciences, Information Management, Library Services, Data analysis, Information Technology, or another related field. 
• Experience:  Minimum two years of relevant professional experience. 
• Languages: Spanish and English fluency required.   

Core and Technical Competencies:

• Able to learn new processes quickly, thoroughly, and confidently.  
• Ability to work independently and manage own time effectively. 
• Friendly and competent customer service disposition. 
• Research abilities, especially via publications/journal databases (e.g., OCLC) and internet sites. 
• Strong capacity to synthesize and communicate ideas, policies, and research findings to clients.  
• Experience in resource curation. 
• Basic website management skills, including basic html and CSS knowledge, as well as familiarity with content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress.
• Familiarity with metadata standards and good practices. 
• Familiarity with the LibGuides platform is a plus.
• Some experience with taxonomy/ontology management a plus. 
• Familiarity with publications and/or library processes desirable. 
• Experience working in a customer facing role desirable.

Opportunity Summary:

• Type of contract: Consultant Full Time (CNS Full Time)
• Length of contract: 12 months, with the possibility of extending for up to a total of 36 months. 
• Location: Remote.
• Requirements: You must be citizen of one of the IDB’s 48-member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
