  • Citizenship:  You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.  

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group. 

  • Education: Recently completed (within three years or less) Master’s degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Social Policy or a related field.

  • Experience: Applicants must be under 33 years of age by January 1, 2019. (Or 38 years of age for the diversity groups defined in the Bank’s Young Professionals Diversity Program) and possess a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.

  • Languages and skills: Proficiency in English and Spanish/Portuguese, strong oral and written communication skills, strong analytical skills (including proficiency in the use of qualitative and quantitative techniques and standard statistics/econometric software packages) are required. Excellent teamwork and an ability to work in a multi-cultural environment are also important.

 

 

Opportunity Summary:

 

  • Type of contract: Consultant– Full time

  • Length of contract: Initial contract 19 months, renewable up to an additional 17 months, depending on performance and business needs.

  • Starting date: First half of 2020

  • Location: IDB Headquarters, Washington, D.C., USA.  The Bank will contribute toward travel and moving expenses, if applicable. If a candidate is not a citizen or resident of the United States, the Bank will apply for a G-IV visa from the Consulate of the United States in the candidate's country of origin. If a candidate cannot obtain a visa to work at the IDB, the contractual offer will be rescinded.

  • Supervisor: Cluster Leader of the Office of Evaluation and Oversight

  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group. (Up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and the second degree of affinity, including spouse).
