What you will need:

 

Education: You have a Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Criminology, Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Development Economics, or another related field. Project Management certification is highly desired.

 

Experience: You have at least 8 years of relevant professional experience in the design and implementation of programs, preferably in the area of citizen security and justice.  The ideal candidate will also have:

 

  • Strong track record designing and implementing public sector projects.

  • Solid skills in working in multi-disciplinary and cross-sector teams to develop complex and innovative projects.

  • Good communication skills and capacity to engage in policy dialogue.

  • Experience working with the government preferably in citizen security and justice sector, with a strong emphasis on innovation and thematic value addition. 

  • Knowledge of multilateral development institutions and their lending instruments.

 

Languages: You are fluent (oral and written) in Portuguese and English. Proficiency in an additional official IDB Group language (Spanish or French) is a plus.

Opportunity Summary: 
Type of contract: Fixed-term, staff.
Length of contract: Three years.
Starting date: upon agreement 
Location: Brasilia, Brazil. The IDB reserves the right to reassign the staff member to a different location based on business needs. Frequent travel is required for this position.
