Project Development Consultant Compete Caribbean Partnership Facility

What you’ll need:

• Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
• Education:  Master’s degree in science, business, economics or related field; and project management certification. A minimum of five years of professional experience.
• Experience: At least five (5) years of project management or professional experience in identifying, preparing, and managing the execution of private sector development projects with a focus on improving innovation, productivity and competitiveness.  Prior experience engaging in dialogue with senior decision makers on issues related to innovation, productivity and/or competitiveness (business climate reforms, e-government, entrepreneurship, innovation systems, clusters, strengthening business support organizations, etc.). Prior experience working with multilateral development institutions and knowledge of procurement policies and programming practices used by these institutions would be an asset. Experience in a developing country setting is required. Experience in the Caribbean would be an asset.
• Languages: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Fluency in Spanish an asset.

• Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Project design and monitoring and evaluation skills
• Strong quantitative and qualitative data analytical skills
• Ability to work independently, with initiative and responsibility, and establish work priorities
• Ability to communicate effectively and in writing with diverse audiences
• Ability to work as team member to complete work assignments, achieve common goals, and contribute towards a positive work environment. 

• Type of Contract: Consultant, Full time.
• Length of Contract: 12 months
• Location: Barbados, with travel throughout the Caribbean
• Responsible person: Private Sector Development Lead Specialist and Executive Director of Compete Caribbean (IFD/CTI) will have the technical responsibility for the coordination of the consultant’s activities.
• Requirements: You cannot have any family members currently working at the IDB Group.
