What you’ll need:

Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.

Education: Bachelor's degree, Paralegal certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant paralegal experience

Languages: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

 

Core and Technical Competencies

  • Legal document drafting skills, including the ability to draft a variety of correspondence and edit materials in both languages using proper grammar, punctuation and style.
  • Knowledge of legal processes, procedures and terminology for review, examination, preparation and processing of legal documents. Knowledge of arbitration, criminal or administrative procedures is desirable.
  • Sound organizational skills and ability to prioritize and deliver assignments in a timely manner, with minimal supervision and often under severe time pressures.
  • Ability to research, analyze and synthesize legal and other information and present results clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team, assisting team members by performing multiple, concurrent, and progressively more difficult assignments.
  • Fully proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Salesforce and in using information databases, internet/intranet services and library sources. Advanced knowledge of, and experience with videoconferencing platforms (e.g., Cisco Webex, Zoom and MS Teams).
  • Tact and discretion in dealing with senior officials and staff at all levels.
