What you'll need

  • Education: J.D. (or equivalent) degree from an accredited law school in a Bank member country.  
  • Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience as a lawyer, including demonstrated analytical, drafting and negotiation skills, with a strong emphasis on experience in legal research, analysis and advice relating to international transactions or international development. Legal work in international transactions; international organizations or aid agencies; international development projects; and/or public sector policy and regulation.
  • Languages:  Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required . Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents. 
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab. 

Type of contract and duration

  • International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
