What you'll need

Education: Master's degree or equivalent Licenciatura/advanced degree in Knowledge Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Communications, Economics, Finance, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Candidates with a Ph.D. are preferred.

Experience: At least 12-15 years of relevant international working experience (preferably in LAC). Proven record at the senior leadership level, plus:

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to meet client’s needs.

  • Proven experience managing change in complex organizations, including process redesign, excellent negotiation and influencing skills and pragmatic and solution-focused decision-making in fast-paced environments.

  • Experience handling multi-disciplinary and/or cross-sector teams, with demonstrated well-honed integration skills.

  • Strong social and communication skills with the ability to consult, partner and work effectively with senior leaders and business partners across countries, sectors, and group members. Will work to drive alignment against key organizational priorities.

  • Proven managerial skills with track record of building high performing teams with strong client service orientation.

  • Impeccable integrity and highest ethical standards.

Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents. 

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

  • International staff contract, based in Washington, DC, for a period of 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
