IT Business Partner Sr. Specialist or Specialist

We are looking for a Business Partner with proven expertise in the delivery of business and technology solutions and services, that provide a value added to our clients.  The IT Business Partner Group for Countries serves a large and diverse set of clients located across all the countries in which the institution operates and has the overall responsibility of serving as the strategic interface for business technology delivery, solution discovery, service delivery reviews, and relationship management.

You will serve as a liaison between Operations, Management, Digital Advisors, and other partners from our office in several countries and the Bank’s Headquarters, and, the Information Technology Department, providing advisory services, project management, and technology adoption mentorship through key technology-based initiatives.

What you will do:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Business Units and a liaison to the Information Technology Department (ITE) and external vendors through the identification and clarification of needs and challenges.

  • Develop and implement sound recommendations towards the adoption and/or optimal use of existing IT tools, services and vendors that support operational and corporate processes anticipating gaps and overlaps.

  • Assist business with development of business cases and prioritization.

  • Together with other ITE units (ITO and IPP), identifying solutions and improvements aimed to enhance impact on operational and corporate Business Processes.

  • Facilitate and may lead, the delivery of solutions on time and within scope and budget and compatible with Bank’s standards. Also, help monitor status of solutions, evaluate post implementations, and document lessons learned.

  • Actively promote best practices replication within and or outside the assigned Department.

  • Proactively identify, manage and resolve coordination challenges with business units and other ITE functions.

  • Identify, screen, and evaluate new solution opportunities or use cases for current ITE tools to address internal and external client (Executing Agencies) needs.

  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office on the intake process and prioritization of potential projects across the Bank.

  • Apply project management best practices in the implementation of agreed-upon solutions for Business Units.

  • Understand, recommend and apply new and innovative business processes and technologies to meet the strategic needs of the VP, Departments, and Units, while ensuring compatibility with the Bank’s existing applications, infrastructure, and security requirements.

  • Provide advice/expertise in organizational change and innovation implementation methodologies.

  • Provide technical guidance, mentor and/or coach others.

What you will need:

You must have strong relationship and networking skills to generate synergies both within ITE and with outside clients/partners of the IDB group. In addition, you should have the following skills/abilities:

  • Develop and share knowledge about solutions, procedures, and tools.

  • Experience with design thinking and user experience (UX) methodologies is desirable.

  • Capacity to learn and understand business processes and needs.

  • Ability to facilitate dialogue by bridging the gap between technology and its operational applications

Education: You are an engineer or hold a master’s degree (or a 5-year Licenciatura) in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related area.

Experience:  You have at least eight (8) years of relevant experience with at least five (5) years delivering technology-based business services and solutions. Advanced level knowledge of Agile and Design Thinking Methodologies are desirable.

Additional desirable experience: Experience in innovation field, IT or business transformation, startups, change management with public or private corporations, development banks, Fintech within international context from the region would be desirable as well.

Certifications: Project Management Professional Certification is desirable.

Languages: You are fluent in written and oral in both English and Spanish; Knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is a plus.
