IPF-IT Business Partner Group Consultant

The focus of this consultancy opportunity (but not limited to) will be to serve as business partner for one or more of the departments with the scope of work of the group, identify and recommend process improvements, implement technology solutions in coordination with IT suppliers, and use technologies such as Robotic Process Automation platforms, Low-Code/No-Code platforms, and data visualization tools to support the mission of the group and that of its business partners.


The team’s mission:

The IPF – IT Business Partner Group has the overall responsibility for acting as the strategic interface between the IT Department and the Vice-Presidency for Finance and Administration.  Team members in this group manage the shape the demand for IT solutions and services, provide advise on IT matters, develop project proposals and help articulate business cases, manage IT capital investments, and help departments develop innovative solutions to business problems.

What you’ll do:
  • Assume ownership of the demand capture and demand articulation process, including the identification of requirements, creating high-level designs, and delivering solutions for clients.
  • Gain deep understanding of client departments business processes to identify process improvements.
  • Work with providers to secure firm estimates for work.
  • Help prototype solutions that can be scaled to full-fledge production systems using emerging technologies.
  • Manage capital investments (develop and execute projects plans and deliver projects within the allocated time and budget).
  • Deliver presentations to Senior Management to provide status reports, secure project sponsorship, or demonstrate value in the solutions delivered.
  • Promote the use of technologies in the day to day work of your clients.

Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another field related to IT technology.

Experience: 5 years of IT solutions delivery (development, project management, etc.)

Languages:  English & Spanish.

Opportunity Summary:

Type of contract: Consultant (more than one position available)

Length of contract: 1 year (possible extension up to 3 years)

Location: Washington D.C., Headquarters.

Teamwork: Demonstrated success collaborating and working on team-based outcomes.

Communications: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to interact with end users and translate business language into technical requirements is a must.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of programming and scripting languages (Python, C#, or similar), Development of Queries and Reports (SQL and Tableau or PowerBI), Project Management Practices (certifications preferred)

Soft Skills: Team player, inclusive, innovative and creative, client-oriented, results-driven, with strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
