About this position:

Given the great socioeconomic importance of agriculture in rural areas of the region, we emphasize helping small producers to develop, adapt to changing climatic conditions, and reduce environmental impact, promoting sustainable use of land and other natural resources.
Rural development encompasses various economic sectors and interacts with urban areas, constituting territories that have specific characteristics and challenges. That's why we work across sectoral boundaries, forging coalitions and contributing to multisectoral solutions to achieve our development goals.
