Background of this search:
 

The Financial Control and Operational Risk Management Unit in the Office of Risk Management (RMG/ORM) requires a highly motivated Information Technology (IT) Risk consultant to join a group of non-financial risk experts that monitor and report on emerging operational risks and trends.

 
The Team’s mission:
 

RMG/ORM coordinates the activities related to the Bank-wide Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), and the assessment of the Bank's internal control system to support Management’s assertion on the Bank’s internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).

 
What you’ll do:
  • Identify, assess, and recommend courses of action to respond to risks associated with technology infrastructure and applications, as appropriate.
  • Review IDB’s IT risk management processes. Analyze documentation and process flows to identify ways to improve and streamline risk mitigation processes.
  • Facilitate activities by which risk owners identify new, top, emerging, or changing IT risks resulting from business activities or external events.
  • Coordinate with first-line management and risk partners to assess technology capabilities, analyzing processes and risk exposure to drive the implementation of appropriate risk management tools.
  • Collaborate and interface with risk partners and oversight units to help drive meaningful technology-risk reductions and escalation of risks, as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of internal reporting and monitor risk metrics/indicators related to IT processes.
  • Contribute to the design of policies, standards, and procedures to maximize effective management of IT risks and minimize risk exposure.
  • Provide input to periodic risk reports to Senior Management and the Board’s Audit Committee, including the monitoring of IT emerging risks. 
What you’ll need:
  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: Masters or equivalent in Technology, Computer or Data Science, Cybersecurity, IT Risk Management. Specialized skills in disciplines such as IT architecture, agile development, change management, systems development.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related position required. Experience in IT risk management and operational risk management in second and third lines of defense preferred.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Ability to draft documents and give presentations to Senior Management required. Demonstrated excellence in analytical, writing and communication skills.

  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
