Background: The Office of the Secretary’s main function is to provide services for the IDB and IIC Boards of Governors and Boards of Executive Directors (including their standing committees), the MIF Donors Committee, and senior management. For meetings and especially seminars organized by one of the Bank’s departments, all meeting-related services are the responsibility of the department in question, with the Office of Secretary lending advisory assistance and logistical support as needed.

The Office of the Secretary consists of the following sections:

  • Services to the Boards, Committees and Management
  • Translation and Documentation
  • Events Production Management
  • Simultaneous Interpretation
  • Protocol
  • Systems and & Digital innovation
  • Access to Information

The team: The Information Systems and Digital Innovation section (ISD) designs, develops, and maintains information systems supporting the business processes of all the sections within the Office of the Secretary.  

Designs, develops, and maintains information systems used during the Annual Meetings of the IDB and IIC Boards of Governors, and manages and maintains the required technology infrastructure.

Participates in the definition of the technical requirements (equipment, telephony, network, and audiovisual) of equipment and services provided by the host country for the Annual Meeting of the Boards of Governors in coordination with the Events Management and Production Section (SEC/EPM) and the Information Technology Department (ITE).

What you’ll do: SEC/ISD is looking for information technology consultant with experience in software development and analysis of requirement.

The position will be responsible for the following duties among others:

  • Participate in the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of the new systems in the pipeline.
  • Provide maintenance and support for currently existing systems.
  • Facilitate communications between and for good client relations.
  • Resolve department day to day issues with clients, colleagues and 3rd parties.

What you’ll need:

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents. 
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: You hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: You have acquired relevant experience working in information technology services management. Project management experience. Experience/knowledge of the following technologies and platforms:
    • Programming Languages: ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, Microsoft SharePoint, mobile development (Cordova, Xamarin).
    • Databases: SQL Server or Oracle. Knowledge in MongoDB is desired.
    • Operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Linux OS
    • Other: knowledge of Jira, Git, Scrum methodology.
  • Languages:  You are proficient in English and Spanish. Working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is desirable

  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48-member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
