What you’ll need:
  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: Master’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in communications.
  • Experience: International development or related field, preferably with emphasis on media relations and journalism. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience, preferably in designing and implementing communication and media strategies.
  • Languages: Be proficient in English and preferably with a working knowledge of one of the Bank’s additional official languages (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese, or French).
  • Technical Skills: Creative writing, message development and content editing. Knowledge on Adobe Creative Suite, HTML and Sharepoint (desired)

Core and Technical Competencies: Team player, inclusive, innovative and creative, client-oriented, results-driven, with strong communication skills. Ability to concisely and accurately convey information, both written and verbal, tailored appropriately to audiences and to all levels of seniority. Strong written and verbal presentation skills, as well as networking and relationship building skills.

References: The Communications Consultant will work closely with the unit’s journalism/content expert and the unit’s graphics expert in the delivery of communications to improve how the department connects with employees, the Inter-America Development Bank Group (IDBG) business areas, the media, IDBG clients, and influencers by offering a coherent message throughout.

The Communications Consultant will be engaged in crafting content and templates, editing content in both English and Spanish, collaborate in designing creative assets, and assisting in the implementation strategy across each of department’s digital channels.
