What you'll need:

  • Education: A master's degree in finance, economics, risk management, or a related field is required. Certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are highly desirable.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience with responsibilities in the development and/or implementation of financial models and projections, corporate processes, and operational efficiencies.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable. 

Key skills:

  • Exceptional skills in quantitative analysis and financial modeling. Ability to interpret complex financial data, model it and derive insightful conclusions
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex financial and risk management concepts to a diverse audience. Proficiency in preparing and delivering formal presentations to stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing skills in both English and Spanish, to prepare regular reports for senior managers and donors.
  • Advanced user of financial software tools and applications, including risk assessment and financial modeling platforms. Highly proficient in MS Excel, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, showing a collaborative mindset and contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant IDB Group policies, procedures, systems (SAP, Convergence, Hyperion, ServiceNow) and databases, and management processes would be an advantage. Hands-on experience using digital technologies and content management systems with demonstrated knowledge in digital audience analytics, collection of business and system requirements, and reporting is desired.

Requirements:

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. 
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration:

  • Type of contract:   Consultant Full-Time. 
  • Length of contract: 12 months.
  • Work Location: Headquarters, Washington DC.
