IDB Invest Treasury Operations, (Officer/Associate Officer)


Background: The Finance and Administration Department covers the following areas: Controllership, Treasury, Operations, and Analytics, Knowledge, and Information. The Operations Division is responsible for financial and administrative services including treasury operations, financial operations and document management; and transaction services including disbursement processing, financial statement spreading & analysis, compliance, and project monitoring. 

The team:. We are looking for a hardworking and experienced professional to join the Treasury Operations team. You will support the team in various activities including Trade settlement, Cash settlement activities, processing of international payments, monitoring the transaction flows, as well as reporting and reconciliations of activities.                                                                                                                                                                           
What you’ll do:

  • Trade Settlement Operations
    • Perform the trade confirmation process for all fixed income securities trades with counterparts.
    • Monitor and ensure settlement of investments activities (fixed income securities), funding activities (bonds issued), and OTC derivatives instruments for Treasury related activities.
    • Process and record cash, investment, funding, and derivative transactions in systems.
    • Ensure accurate portfolio servicing for all trades which includes Fees, interest, and maturity payments.
    • Review Bond and ISDA Swap documentation.
    • Process payments through manual creation of SWIFT messages, if required.
    • Monitor and resolve pre-trade/post-trade discrepancies.
  • Cash and Securities Reconciliation
    • Perform daily reconciliation of securities positions between internal systems and custodians.
    • Ensure all corporate actions are correctly captured in internal systems.

What you´ll need:

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Education: Master’s degree required for an Officer position and Bachelor’s for an Associate Officer. Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics or related fields.

Experience: You have at least 5 years of relevant experience; a successful track record of achieving high quality results and delivering client valuable services to meet team and departmental objectives; expertise of fixed income trade settlement, OTC derivatives market, Treasury Management System, and international payment systems preferred.

Other skills:

  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of pre/post trade settlement processes of Fixed Income, Derivative and Cash Instruments and financial calculations.
  • Strong knowledge of Bond and ISDA Swap documentation
  • Experience working with Treasury Management Systems, Markitwire, Bloomberg AIM and People Soft Treasury module will be desirable
  • Working knowledge of SWIFT messages related to securities settlements and bank transfers is highly desirable.
  • Languages: You are proficient in written and verbal communication in English and in a second official language of the IDB Group (Spanish, Portuguese or French).
