What you’ll need:


Education: An advanced degree (at least Master, MBA, or equivalent) in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.


Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience, particularly with extensive use of data management and analysis software, as well as large database maintenance.  Candidate must feel comfortable with the application of quantitative approaches to economic and financial issues (e.g., macroeconometrics, microeconometrics and machine learning). Knowledge of private-public sector issues, and knowledge and/or experience in Latin America and the Caribbean, is a must.


Language Skills: Oral and written professional proficiency in English and Spanish is required; knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is a plus.


Technical Competencies:

Software: Advanced quantitative software (e.g., STATA).

Country Knowledge, Policy and Dialogue: Builds knowledge of client countries and regions and applies that understanding to the development of IDB Invest policy, strategy, dialogue and stakeholder relationships.

Relationship Management: Manages internal or external clients and their needs by building relationships, maintaining contact, and gathering a deep understanding of their function or business.

Opportunity Summary:   

 

Type of contract:  Consultant full time

Length of contract: 7.5 months

Starting date:  May 16, 2019

Location: Washington D.C.

Requirements: You must have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
