IDB Invest - Development Effectiveness Principal Officer - Economist

Education: An advanced degree (at least Master, MBA, or equivalent) in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Public Policy or related field; PhD Preferred.

Experience: 

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in project management, economic analysis, or monitoring and evaluation of development projects in one or more areas of interest for the IDB Invest (financial markets and banking, transport, energy, telecommunication, agribusiness, manufacturing, tourism and other services).
• Experience in economic cost-benefit analysis and impact evaluation.
• Clear understanding of the operational work of the IDB Invest or similar experience in a multilateral institution/private sector. Knowledge and/or experience in Latin America and the Caribbean is essential, especially South American countries.
• Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple teams, complex projects, developing and implementing innovation, as well as the ability to engage stakeholders across different levels of the organization.

Language: Oral and written proficiency in English and Spanish required; knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is a plus.
