Skills you’ll need:
  • Education: Master’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Finance, Business Administration, Public Policy or related field.
  • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience (for junior level) and 3 years of experience (for more senior level), ideally with exposure to Latin America and the Caribbean and to development matters. Practical experience in monitoring and evaluation of development projects – ideally with projects carried out by the private sector in a variety of sectors or, if not experience in private sector, in areas that could be easily transferred to private sector operations. Experience with data management, analytics, and programing languages. Relevant experience could include economic or cost-benefit analysis, impact evaluation, (big) data analytics, and machine learning.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English (Portuguese is a plus).
  • Competencies: Technical Expertise: an understanding and aptitude for development finance, development effectiveness, and/or impact measurement and evaluation, and economic analysis and Data management and analysis: experience with programming languages, econometrics, data management, and data analytics.

  • Quality and efficiency: create and/or implements standards of excellence for products and services ensuring consistency, accuracy, reliability and efficiency. Continuously seeks new ways to make processes run smoother and faster to enhance outcomes.

Payment and Conditions: Compensation will be determined in accordance with IDB Invest’s policies and procedures. IDB Invest, pursuant to applicable policies, may contribute toward travel and moving expenses.

 

Visa and Work Permit: IDB Invest, pursuant to applicable policies, may submit a visa request to the applicable immigration authorities; however, the granting of the visa is at the discretion of the immigration authorities. Notwithstanding, it is the responsibility of the candidate to obtain the necessary visa or work permits required by the authorities of the country(ies) in which the services will be rendered to the IDB Invest. If a candidate cannot obtain a visa or work permit to render services to the IDB Invest the contractual offer will be rescinded.

 

Consanguinity: Pursuant to applicable IDB Invest policy, candidates with relatives (including the fourth degree of consanguinity and the second degree of affinity, including spouse) working for the IDB Invest as staff members or Complementary Workforce contractuals, will not be eligible to provide services for the IDB Invest.
