Background:


The Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest), a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, is a multilateral organization based in Washington, D.C. that is committed to the development of Latin America and the Caribbean through the private sector.

 

The Team: The Risk Management Department (RSM) encompasses four divisions:  Credit Risk Management; Environmental, Social and Governance, Market and Operational Risk and Special Assets.  This position will provide support primarily with day-to-day credit risk management activities and facilitate the efficient operation to the Credit Risk Management (MCR) Division and the Market and Operational Risk Unit (FOR). S/he will work in collaboration with the officers to effectively manage multiple and changing priorities.

 
What you’ll do:
  • Keep abreast of IDB Invest policies and procedures and provide guidance to team members on the appropriate interpretation of administrative policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate a range of support activities which contribute to an effective office workflow and organization. Specific position responsibilities include:
    • Coordinate agenda, organizing meetings, trainings and committees in a timely fashion way based on needs, preferences and understanding of business priorities.
    • Coordinate general office administration, ensuring proper logistics, prioritization of support activities and resources for the assigned business areas.
    • Support and guidance in the preparation of TAs and SOEs.
  • Contribute to the coordination and management of documents related to the Department, including organizing electronic and physical files for easy access.
  • Support in monitor budget, expenses and contracts, including consultancy contracts, and any other financial transactions such as statement of expenses reimbursements, petty cash, and p-card payments.
  • Act as liaison with other IDB Invest or IDB organizational units for the coordination of activities relevant to the efficient management of the Division.
    • Contribute to monitor and report compliance of the department's own tasks, such as, annually supervision report inputs, control overdue ratings, quarterly and year-end reporting.
    • Prepare reports as per the IDB Lab SLA.
    • Contribute in gathering information requested by internal auditors.
    • Ensure compliance with committees’ guidelines.
    • Monitor and maintain IDB Invest operating business systems.
  • Conducts research and analyze information to prepare documents and reports Support in the preparation and distribution of reports.
  • Provide support in other tasks throughout the term of the contract.


Skills you’ll need:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or another relevant field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in similar functions, preferably in multinational and multicultural environment. Understanding of projects’ approval and supervision cycle.  Demonstrated capacity to coordinate and provide virtual and just-in-time support under demanding situations. Ability to handle multiple tasks is a must. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to rapidly become proficient in new software applications and systems is required. 
  • Language Skills: Oral and written professional proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

Payment and Conditions: Compensation will be determined in accordance with IDB Invest’s policies and procedures. IDB Invest, pursuant to applicable policies, may contribute toward travel and moving expenses. In addition, candidates must be citizens of a Corporation member country.

 

Visa and Work Permit: IDB Invest, pursuant to applicable policies, may submit a visa request to the applicable immigration authorities; however, the granting of the visa is at the discretion of the immigration authorities. Notwithstanding, it is the responsibility of the candidate to obtain the necessary visa or work permits required by the authorities of the country(ies) in which the services will be rendered to IDB Invest. If a candidate cannot obtain a visa or work permit to render services to IDB Invest the contractual offer will be rescinded.

 

Consanguinity: Pursuant to applicable IDB Invest policy, candidates with relatives (including the fourth degree of consanguinity and the second degree of affinity, including spouse) working for IDB Invest as staff members or Complementary Workforce contractuals, will not be eligible to provide services for IDB Invest.
