What you’ll need:

  • Education: You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, STEM, sustainability, international relations or economics and/or other relevant fields related to digital transformation. An advanced degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) will be desirable.
  • Experience: At least 2 years relevant professional experience related to the key responsibilities of the position and experience working within a team of specialists. You have a solid understanding of how technology-driven business models are disrupting incumbents across different economic sectors and are familiar with open innovation and corporate entrepreneurship in LAC. Experience and skills in client relationships, as well as management consulting and technology strategy will be highly valued.
  • Languages: Oral and written proficiency in English and Spanish required; knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is a plus.

Core and Technical Competencies:

  • The candidate for this position will require to show on a daily basis the following skills: team spirit, proactivity, intellectual curiosity, adaptability, genuine interest on how technology can accelerate progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strong desire to be part of the IDB Invest Advisory Services Division.
  • Communication: Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely, to write clear and precise analytical documents and to adapt communication style to different audiences; demonstrated ability to contribute to multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams; experience independently negotiating retainer agreements and managing external contractuals. Also, must have the ability to convey facts and ideas clearly and in an organized manner in writing and verbally. Listens to others’ points of view and is able to produce summarized reports.
  • Networking: Ability to proactively cultivate networks with people across a variety of functions and locations within and outside the Bank, working effectively and cooperatively with all stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to take initiative to assist others; share knowledge and information; express disagreements tactfully and work toward win/win solutions.
  • Initiative and Adaptability: Ability to act independently and resourcefully in responding to work demands, adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and change.

Requirements:

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration:

  • Type of contract:  Consultant Full-Time. 
  • Length of contract: 36 months
  • Location:  any IDB Group country office. Final location will depend on candidate’s nationality.
