What you’ll need:
- Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Belize or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Belize.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group
- Education: Bachelor´s degree in economics, business, mathematics, social science or similar discipline, with a minimum experience of 2 years, Master’s degree would be an asset.
- Languages: English and Spanish
- Skills: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Areas of Expertise and skills:
The following areas of experience and skills would be required:
- Critical thinking
- Familiarity with data and information sources relevant to international development
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods and policy analysis
- Technical writing and oral presentation ability
- Interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and adaptability, willingness to learn new skills and face unexpected challenges.
- The candidate should have a demonstrated capacity for data collection, analysis and interpretation; excellent coordination, communications, organizational and interpersonal skills.
The following areas of experience and skills would be considered strong assets:
- Knowledge and experience in the countries of CID, especially Belize.
- Experience in the field of international development.
- Work experience in the development of country (assistance) strategies, programming, evaluation and coordination of development projects and programs in a development institution.
- Knowledge of and exposure to IDB or the work of key development institutions (IFIs, EU, regional development banks, bilateral donors).
Opportunity Summary:
- Type of contract: Full Time Consultant
- Length of contract: 19 months
- Location: Country Office in Belize.
- Responsible person: The consultant will be supervised by the Chief of Operations for Belize.
- Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group
