What you’ll need:

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: Master’s degree required in statistics, data science, economics, public policy, engineering, or other relevant fields.
  • Experience:  A minimum of 5 years of experience in analyzing household survey or census data for Latin America or the Caribbean using STATA or R is required.  Experience with other programs highly desired (e.g. R, ArcGIS, Tableau).  Candidates must have a strong quantitative background (e.g., econometrics, programming).  Previous experience related to gender and diversity data collection methods is preferred.
  • Languages: proficiency in English and Spanish.

Core and Technical Competencies:

In applied research and public policy at a recognized university, research center, international organization, or government agency. Strong background in econometrics and statistics. Experience in applied econometric methodologies, data collection, and with packages such as Stata, R or Python. Familiarity with project activities that can support gender equality, the development of identity of indigenous peoples, and the inclusion of persons with disabilities, and African descendants.

  • Type of contract: Full Time Consultant, monthly.
  • Length of contract: 1 year
  • Location: Washington, DC
  • Responsible person: Sector Specialist – Gender and Diversity.
  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.

The organization requires a COVID-19 vaccination for in-person business in the United States. Therefore, everyone working in HQ is required to present proof of vaccination status upon hire unless they qualify for a medical or religious exemption, subject to the Bank’s approval.
