What you’ll need:

Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Education: Master’s degree in finance, and/or business administration. CPA, CIA, CISA certifications preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (preferable with an international financial institution) in developing and implementing Operational Risk Management frameworks, assessment of internal control systems and/or Sarbanes Oxley (SOX). Proven knowledge and experience in the implementation of risk monitoring and reporting systems. Other skills include:

  • Prior management experience leading risk professionals and influencing stakeholders and partners.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven record of developing talent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior knowledge of operational risk, risk management tools such as Risk and Control Assessments, Operational Risk Appetite, Key Risk Indicators, Incident Management, industry trends, and related standards such as Basel, Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX), COSO Internal Control Framework and others issued by standards setting organizations.
  • Ability to independently formulate and draft well-organized, well-written, analytically sound, and thorough reports on operational risk and the assessment of internal control systems.
  • Ability to conduct external and internal research and apply strong analytical skills to derive conclusions.
  • Prior experience supporting first line in addressing operational risk introduced due to organizational, process, or systems/applications changes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite of tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Languages: Proficiency in English and at least one other of the official Bank languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese).
