What you'll need 

  • Education: Master's Degree or equivalent in Public Procurement or equivalent in areas of Economics, Civil Engineering, Law, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related area.
  • Experience: At least five years of relevant professional experience working in public/project or private sector, or international organizations. Highly desirable: Two (2) years of direct experience in international private or public procurement or two (2) years of direct experience in public finance.
  • Languages: English. Knowledge of other official languages of the Bank would be an asset. (Spanish, French and Portuguese)

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), MS Teams and Microsoft Outlook.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, planning, organizing and executing skills, attention to detail, ability to adjust to multiple demands, ability to write reports, ability shifting priorities and change, strong teamwork, effective communications skills and word processing, spreadsheet and financial software.
  • Familiarity with IDB funded projects would be an advantage.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Guyana or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Guyana.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

  • Type of contract: Full Time National Consultant.
  • Length of contract: 12 months.
  • Work Location: On site.
