What you’ll need:
  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or another related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in corporate communications and functional communications or related field—knowledge of Investor Relations is preferred, but not necessary. Experience in Employee Value Propositions, Executive Communications, and Change Management.
  • Languages: Professional proficiency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
Core and Technical Competencies:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence through all levels of an organization, demonstrated through excellent interpersonal skill.
  • Experience in Employee Value Propositions, Executive Communications, and Change Management.
  • Gravitas, intellectual capacity and confidence to interact with business partners and support high-profile initiatives.
  • Proven ability to understand and articulate complex subjects to sophisticated audiences, build differentiated internal audience profiles, and simplify material as necessary for broader audiences to maintain a focus on and passion for improving the employee/manager experience.
  • Strong writing, editing and project management skills; experience with applying enterprise brand standards and corporate narratives across a portfolio of communications. This is a communications expert helping drive our storyline through available channels and proposing engaging content and formats.
  • Deep understanding of digital and social platforms, both internal and external. Microsoft O365 tools and practices for improved communications is desired. Demonstrated analytical ability.
  • Ability to think/act both strategically and tactically.
  • Motivated self-starter who is able to proactively offer ideas, strategies and make decisions, not just execute on what is asked.
  • Manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to navigate and exert influence in a highly matrixed environment and connect the dots.
  • Ability to build relationships and demonstrate leadership, instilling trust.
  • Ability to reach across teams to create sense of one and move to collaboration and action. Lead by influence.

Opportunity Summary: 
  • Type of contract: Consultant
  • Length of contract: 5.5 initial months and extendible up to 3 years
  • Location: IDB Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
  • Responsible Person: Div Chief - Communications
  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48-member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
