Skills you'll need
Education: A Master’s degree or Ph.D. (preferred) in Economics, Public Policy with Concentration in Economics and/or Public Finance, Development Economics, or other relevant field/s. Proven ability for lateral thinking and foresight planning and thrust for implementing promising innovations, especially the potential of digital solutions.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in government, bilateral aid agency or multilateral institution. Track record of handling high-performance teams supporting the design and implementation of loan and grants programs to strengthen government institutions and improve public services.
Experience working with a wide range of aid instruments (policy-based lending, investment loans and technical assistance grants). Proven in-depth technical knowledge in one or more areas under the purview of the Division and exposure to Latin America and the Caribbean’s governance challenges.
Strong interpersonal skills: with demonstrated ability to quickly establish and maintain trust and credibility with all stakeholders.
Languages: Excellent English and Spanish language proficiency, oral and written, is required. French and Portuguese a plus.

Location: Washington DC. The IDB reserves the right to reassign the staff member to a different location based on business needs. Frequent travel is required for this position.
Requirements: You are a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
