What you’ll need:

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Sciences, Computer Sciences, Engineering or an equivalent discipline with focus on data ingestion, processing, analysis, and visualization. Master’s degree or equivalent preferable but not required.
  • Experience: at least 3 years of work experience.
  • Languages: You are fluent (oral and written) in both English and Spanish. Additional fluency in Portuguese and/or French is a plus.
Core and Technical Competencies:
  • Besides good coding skills and a comprehensive understanding of the data lifecycle, you have at least 3 years of experience in data analysis (with focus on languages and tools such as Python, JupyterLab, R, R Studio, and/or Stata) and data visualization (Tableau and/or Power BI).
  • Experiences with big data, machine learning (Amazon Sage Maker, Scikit-Learn), and geospatial analysis (Esri ArcGIS, GeoPandas) tools and methods are a plus.
  • Experiences with cloud-based data storage (Amazon S3, Azure Data Lake, Azure File Share) and computation technologies (Apache Hardoop, Apache Spark, Azure Databricks) are also a plus.
  • In addition, knowledge about data engineering processes and tools, along with experiences with trend research and market intelligence (CB Insights) would be ideal.
  • You have excellent qualitative as well as quantitative research skills.
  • You are a team player and connect easily with people, both inside and outside the organization.
  • You have good communication and presentation skills and have experiences in explaining complex technical concepts to audiences without subject-matter background.
  • You are results oriented.
  • Project management experiences are a plus.
