What you’ll need:

 
  • You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.  We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
  • Consanguinity:  You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: Master’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in communications, marketing, international development or related field, preferably with emphasis on media relations and journalism. 
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant work experience, preferably in designing and implementing communication and media strategies in Belize or other English-speaking Caribbean countries.
  • Languages: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; fluency in Spanish is an asset.
  • Skills:
  • Planning and Execution: Capacity to translate strategic goals and priorities into realistic and flexible plans and programs, optimizing the use of resources, and monitoring implementation to ensure that key results are achieved in a timely manner.
  • Results Orientation: Acts independently and resourcefully in response to work demands. Ability to meet organizational goals and client expectations by producing high-quality results, involving creative problem-solving.
  • Communication and networking skills: Ability to concisely and accurately convey information, both written and verbal, tailored appropriately to audiences and to all levels of seniority. Strong written and verbal presentation skills, as well as networking and relationship building skills, especially with media outlets.
 
Opportunity Summary: 
 
  • Type of contract and modality: Consultant
  • Length of contract: 19 months
  • Starting Date:  August 2019
  • Location: Country Office Belize
  • Responsible person: The contractual will work under the guidance of the Bank’s KIC Communications Specialist assigned to Belize in Washington DC and will report to the Belize Country Office Representative.
  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
