Country Economist (Senior) Specialist

What you'll need

·     Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Economics, International Development, Public Policy, or other fields relevant to the role's responsibilities. PhD highly desirable.  

·   Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in economic research, economic monitoring, and economic information analysis. Proven knowledge of standard techniques for debt analysis, balance of payments, current account, and sustainability analysis. Experience with policy issues and development problems in the region's countries. Experience working with other multilaterals a plus, including knowledge of its policies and procedures, as well as proficiency in econometrics software (STATA, MATLAB, etc.), is a plus.

·      Languages:  Proficiency in Spanish and English, both oral and written, is required.

Requirements

·     Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents. 

·     Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab. 

Type of contract and duration

·         International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
