What you’ll need:


Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.

Education:  Master's degree or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience in Environmental Sciences, Economics, Natural Resource Management or relevant disciplines, execution and management of operations related to development and climate change.

Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience. Working or academic experience with issues related to climate change resilience and environmental sustainability will be strongly preferred. Experience with implementation of projects in Latin-America and the Caribbean region is highly desirable. Experience working with multilateral institutions and preparing projects including both for the public and private sector on climate change, ideally with international sources of climate finance is desirable.

  • Must have an advanced understanding of climate change and sustainability issues in the Caribbean region;
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of monitoring and/or implementing REDD+ projects;
  • Must have an advanced understanding of climate financing.

Languages:  Fluent in English. Competency in Dutch will be an asset.

Excellent communication skills, including written and oral forms; proven ability to communicate complex concepts and prepare reports that are clear, concise and meaningful; Ability to develop, analyze and articulate project issues and identify creative, practical approaches to overcome challenging situations; Analytic capacity and ability to assess project outputs and relevant findings; Good team player, self-starter, ability to work under limited supervision and maintain good relationships internally and externally to the Bank.

 
Opportunity Summary: 
 

Type of contract: Consultant Full Time.

Length of contract: 19 months

Location: COF, Suriname

Responsible person: Climate Change Senior Specialist CSD/CCS, has the overall responsibility for the coordination.

Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
