What you’ll do:

  1. Support country office representatives to respond to demands related to technical assistance regarding public-private partnerships.
  2. Serve as Focal Point of Public-Private Partnerships for the Bank, interacting with the VPS and IDB Invest Divisions.
  3. Participate in the Bank's upstream PPP support: review of the PPP regulatory and institutional framework; Project identification, planning and prioritization activities; Strengthening the fiscal and sustainability components of the PPP implementation cycle; conduct early assessments; Monitoring, supervision and ex-post evaluation of PPP projects.
  4. Participate in the Bank's downstream support: provide assistance to beneficiary public entities in the identification, prioritization, evaluation and structuring of PPP contracts considering the technical, environmental, social, fiscal, legal, financial and commercial aspects of the preparation of PPP initiatives 
  5. Participate in the PPP Community of Practice in Latin America and the Caribbean (knowledge development and monitoring, dissemination, and communication in regional forums).
  6. Propose training content for the PPP Knowledge and Learning Sector to Bank staff, with the aim of disseminating knowledge generation and best practices of IDB PPPs.

 

What you'll need

  • Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in engineering, law administration, economics, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience: At least 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in infrastructure projects, finance or public policy,
  • Languages: Proficiency in English

Requirements:

  • Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Jamaica or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Jamaica
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
  • COVID-19 considerations: the health and safety of our employees are our number one priority. As a condition of employment, IDB/IDB Invest requires all new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

  • Type of contract: National Consultant Full-Time
  • Length of contract: 12 months
