About this position

You will work in the Migration Unit team, which is part of the Social Sector (SCL). This team is responsible for supporting migration-receiving countries, destination countries, transit migration, and host communities through loan operations; regional, sub-regional, and national dialogues; regional cooperation to generate public goods; capacity building and training; and applied research.

What you’ll do

Participates in the design of operations and analysis of financial requests for projects (loans and technical assistance) and provides technical support in the preparation process, prepares, and monitors approval timelines.

  1. Support monitoring of projects implementation, including support to project teams in supervision missions. - Prepare mission announcements for approval in Convergence.
  2. Follow up with MIG members and SCL Operations team in all matters related to project portfolio monitoring, alerts execution and issues with Convergence in project preparation and execution stages.
  3. Prepare a monthly operations status reports.
  4. Assists in the review of terms of reference ensuring that project activities are consistent with procurement and annual operating plans; in the review of procurement bidding documents and consultant contracts to ensure conformity with Bank policies; in verifying compliance of products and services with agreed standards, and in the preparation of draft communications to executing agencies accordingly.
  5. Support the publication process guaranteeing correct publication and filing in the Bank’s repository of official operational and administrative documents.
  6. Support MIG members by processing payment of invoices and Letters of Agreement. Serving as liaison between project team members and contract officers in the request of additional information, payments, and follow-up on any potential administrative issue to ensure timely contract's start and correct archiving of deliverables.
  7. Support teams and other members in the Division with mission and event travel related tasks, guarantying that Bank policies and procedures are followed; and provide administrative and logistical support in the organization of special events, workshops and brown-bag lunches following Bank's regulations and procedures.
  8. Support MIG members and MIG Unit Chief in other administrative or operational task that might arise during the contract execution period.

What you'll need 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related subject.
  • Experience: A minimum of two year of relevant professional experience.
  • Languages: Excellent oral and written command of English and Spanish.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

  • Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
  • Length of contract: 12 months.
  • Work Location: On site.
