What you'll need:

  • Education: master’s degree in economics, Econometrics, or Public Policy, with advanced knowledge in data analysis and micro econometrics.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in data analysis and impact evaluation. Ability to work independently.
  • Languages:   Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Key skills

  • Advanced programming skills in R, Python, Stata, and QGIS/ArcGIS.
  • Strong knowledge of key impact evaluation methods, particularly difference-in-differences and its variations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks autonomously.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to collaborate and share knowledge with team members and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Ecuador or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries eligible to obtain a valid residency or legal permit to work in Ecuador without the need for sponsorship by the IDB.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration:

  • Type of contract: Products and External Services Consultant (PEC), Lump Sum.
  • Length of contract: 12 months.
  • Work Location: Ecuador
