Consultancy on Knowledge Product Coordination for the Onboarding Program and Operations Learning Program

Background: The Inter-American Institute for Economic and Social Development offers training through several teaching and learning modalities. It does this with asynchronous and synchronous technological support in order to reach a diverse target audience who is geographically dispersed and has different training needs. Self-learning and e-learning modalities are solutions that streamline the opportunities for bringing knowledge and generating learning for the Bank’s professional and administrative staff, its clients, and its partners, both within and outside Headquarters. In the case of the Bank’s staff, these modalities help develop and increase a continuous-learning culture.

The team’s mission: The Onboarding Program, offered by INDES, is a cross-cutting IDB program that helps effectively integrate new staff into the organization. It provides face-to-face and online resources that enable staff members to improve their understanding of the IDB Group, facilitate their learning curve, and recognize key elements to better perform their new duties.

The Operations Learning Program, offered by INDES, is a cross-cutting IDB program that helps improve the Bank’s interventions, which support economic and social development in Latin America and the Caribbean, particularly Sovereign-Guaranteed lending operations. The program strengthens the technical capacity of IDB staff and its development partners in the region. We work with several Bank departments to create learning experiences that are relevant to the teams that prepare and implement development projects financed by the Bank. The program offers face-to-face workshops, online courses, courses guided by a tutor (Small Private Online Courses or SPOCs), and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), among others.

What You'll Do: In the performance of your duties, you will carry out the following activities:

  • Create or update planning for learning projects.
  • Create or update information about our programs’ training selection on the Bank’s knowledge management platform (SuccessFactors): items, offerings, learning packages, surveys, participant registration, and certificates, among others.
  • Review and guarantee the quality of the contents of learning resources, such as videos, readings, and infographics.
  • Coordinate the creation or update of virtual classrooms for certification exams or other learning resources, ensuring their appropriate configuration.
  • Participate in the design of face-to-face workshops, prepare agendas, invitations, participant registration, and presenter and participant transfers, and manage communications with participants.
  • Coordinate scheduled workshops with the logistics team or the Bank’s Country Offices in the region.
  • Design and execute the communications strategy for the Operations Learning Program, and ensure that the IDB’s identity is reflected in accordance with its branding manual.
  • Prepare descriptions of the program’s knowledge products to facilitate their dissemination among the audience.
  • Update the contents of the Operations Learning Program website.
  • Prepare the necessary information for issuing digital credentials.
  • Review information inconsistencies that may arise in SuccessFactors.
  • Prepare performance reports for knowledge products that allow for learning from experience and making continuous improvements.
  • All other activities that may be necessary to achieve the consultancy’s objectives.
