What you´ll need:
  • Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Belize or citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Belize.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
  • Education: Professional in health or other social science with graduate or a master’s degree in public health and/or epidemiology. Experience in vector control will be a plus
  • Experience: Minimum five years of experience in public health fieldwork, preferably in prevention / care / control of vector-borne diseases.
  • Languages: English and Spanish (preferred).

  • Strategic understanding and operative action: define, articulate, shared vision, results of organization and meeting targets in the short- and medium-term.
  • Planning and organization: execution, prioritization and sequence of actions for maximum efficiency and meeting schedules.
  • Develop procedures: meet commitments and deadlines, direct, coordinate work effectively with other individuals and groups.
  • Team work: encourage participation, involvement of all team members to build consensus and effective negotiation.
  • Communications: engage others; tailor communication to audience needs, interests and style. Clearly express facts and positions, organized writing and speech.
  • Conflict resolution: make key decisions based on systematic analysis and good judgment. Analytical, proactive.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Technical assistance in program evaluation, follow-up on large-scale health projects in Latin American and the Caribbean.
 

Opportunity Summary:

  • Type of contract: Consultant
  • Length of contract: 18 months, with possible extension based on performance
  • Starting date:  June 1st, 2019
  • Location:  Place of residence. The Consultant will attend meetings on a regular basis in IDB Country Office, the MOH, and sites of active foci, as identified by the Project, and will travel to Mexico upon request, once the RMEI project has been approved for that country.
  • Supervisor: Lead health specialist – Principal Coordinator RMEI with feedback from TL in Belize and Mexico.
  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB´s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
