  • Education: Minimum of an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Economics or a related field with a focus on innovation and technology
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and issuing firm level and/or micro surveys in developing countries, with a high preference for experience in the Caribbean region. At least 2-3 years’ experience in project design and development in an international organization and/or development bank with preference for knowledge of internal IDB processes.
  • Languages: Fluency in oral and written English.
 
Core and Technical Competencies:

  • Experience in designing, coordinating, implementing, and analyzing firm level and micro surveys in a developing country, with high preference for experience in the Caribbean.
  • Strong knowledge, as evidenced by research work or development project work, of digital technology adoption.
  • Experience in private sector development projects with a focus on business and innovation climate reform within a developing country context including the Caribbean.
  • Experience in developing results-focused project proposals.
  • Fine-tuned analytical and quantitative skills with strong knowledge in applied statistics
  • Highly developed communication and proposal writing skills. High level of professional integrity.
  • A working understanding of guidelines and procedures typically used by development banks for approving technical cooperation projects.
 
Opportunity Summary: 
 
  • Type of contract and modality: Products and External Services Consultant, Lump Sum.
  • Length of contract: 2 months.
  • Location: External consultancy which will be developed at the place of residence of the contractual. For international contractual, one mission to the location of the potential beneficiaries with a maximum of 5 days on the ground.
  • Responsible person: The technical and administrative responsibilities of this consultancy will be coordinated by the Science and Technology Principal Technical Leader (IFD/CTI), and Private Sector Development Lead Specialist (IFD/CTI), Inter-American Development Bank.
  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.

Payment and Conditions: Compensation will be determined in accordance with Bank’s policies and procedures. The Bank, pursuant to applicable policies, may contribute toward travel and moving expenses. In addition, candidates must be citizens of an IDB member country.
