What you will need:

Education: You hold a Master's degree in engineering, economics, public policy, environment or other relevant areas related to climate resilient institutions and development, preferably with knowledge in the economics of the environment and climate change.

Experience: You have at least 7 years of practical experience in technical positions within governments, international organizations and/or academia in a sector with high climate mitigation/adaptation potential (e.g. finance, energy, agriculture, transport) and the application of fiscal policies and tools related to the environment. A good understanding of, and operational experience with, environmental policy, recent developments in climate mitigation and adaptation approaches, and/or the use of economic and fiscal policies and tools to advance climate sustainability. Candidates should be familiar with designing and managing institutional modernization projects. Experience in research or applied work on environmental/climate change economics is also key.

Languages: Fluent in English and another Bank official language (Spanish, French or Portuguese).

 Headquarters, Washington, DC., USA. The IDB reserves the right to reassign the staff member to a different location based on business needs. Frequent travel may be required
