Climate Change Consultant to Elaborate an Environment and Climate Change Knowledge Database for Suriname

What you’ll need:

• Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Suriname or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Suriname.
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
• Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science, programming, or data science, with fifteen years of work experience in databases, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience on climate change and environmental policy is a plus.
• Experience: At least fifteen years of demonstrated professional experience in climate change and environmental policy planning and reporting associated with knowledge management will be required. The consultant should have advanced knowledge and experience working in Suriname and a good understanding of environmental governance in the country.
• Languages: Advanced level of English and good handling of Dutch.

Core and Technical Competencies: Client focused, team player, great communication skills, understanding of the climate change governance in Suriname and advanced level of knowledge of Suriname.

Opportunity Summary:

• Type of contract and modality: Products and External Services consultant (PEC).
• Length of contract: Nine months.
• Starting date: August 2021.
• Location: Paramaribo, Suriname.
• Responsible person: Climate Change Senior Specialist CSD/CCS.
• Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
