Skills you will need:


A strong professional with best practice knowledge and experience in budget planning and monitoring, or related field.  Strong consultation skills are required in order to provide strategic guidance to business unit leaders.  Candidates should possess a keen understanding of the work of multilateral development organizations, with comprehensive views of how the Budget and Corporate Procurement Division operates as a strategic partner to the business.  Further, should be an effective manager of resources, fostering a culture of efficiency, good planning, and accountability. Experience in workforce dynamics, analytics, budget/financial information systems, corporate procurement, and change management in complex organizations is important, as well as the following minimum requirements:

 

Education: Master's degree or equivalent-level Licenciatura/advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or other relevant field. 


Languages:  Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Spanish is required.  Working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is a plus.


Relevant Experience Requirements: At least 10 years of relevant experience in budget planning and monitoring, procurement, accounting, auditing, management or financial administration.  At least five years of the experience involving the implementation of financial transaction systems, particularly with automated budgeting and accounting systems.  A proven track record in building high performing teams with client service orientation is needed, plus:

  • Ability to bring innovative and workable concepts and ideas to meet client's needs, translating them into policies, processes and systems.
  • Results-orientation, with ability to meet organizational goals and client expectations while producing high-quality results.
  • Established experience in managing relations at Board level preferred.
  • Validated superior communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively translate complex concepts and data and convey them to Staff, Management, and the Board.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills; proven ability to exercise sound judgment and take difficult decisions.
  • Ability to have a “big picture” perspective but also able to understand the business, and design, implement, and run complex processes from a strategic and operational perspective.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to quickly build and maintain trust and credibility with all stakeholders. Sound judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • Impeccable integrity and highest ethical standards.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and experience in working in multicultural environments.
  • Collaborative team player who can inspire trust and passion in the IDB Group's mission, establish productive relationships, and treat all individuals with fairness and respect.
