About this position

The Vice Presidency for Countries (VPC) is looking for an Administration Analyst with excellent communication, inter-personal, technical and administrative skills to perform critical functions such as providing administrative, technical and operational support on a variety of areas, like human resources management, budget, finance, and corporate matters. 

The Vice Presidency for Countries (VPC) is responsible for leading the dialogue and relationship of the Bank with borrowing countries; formulating the Bank’s country and regional strategies; coordinating and supervising the development of the operational program for the public sector and providing support to the development of the non-sovereign guaranteed program; coordinating the work program and the resources of the country departments and establishing annual performance goals for each of them for maximum development impact; and, coordinating the necessary resource allocation for the development of country and regional programs.

What you’ll do 

  • Contribute to the budget formulation exercise in coordination with VPC departments.
  • Monitor budget execution with a complete view of the process and resources (transactional, standalone, and special funds). Ensure adequate funding of expenses and forecasting costs for all administrative expenses. Implement, administer, and reallocate resources throughout the year.
  • Improve financial efficiency by analyzing budgetary data and identifying areas for cost reduction, bringing system decommission and services cut.
  • Establish a continuous resource management improvement process, including regular resource utilization, allocation, and forecasting reviews.
  • Maintain databases, analyze data and prepare ad hoc analytical reports using available corporate and division data.
  • Perform accounts payable functions, approve supporting documentation and authorize payments in the corresponding systems.
  • Perform critical month-end and year-end closing activities such review of key accounts status and its reclassification.

  • Provide analytical and technical guidance to Advisor in the preparation of the work program, business plan and budget within the Results-Based Budgeting (RBB) framework.
  • Provide support to the Advisor in matters related to human resources.
  • Work closely with other departments to align resource planning with organizational goals, VPC strategy, and agenda.
  • Collaborate in the organization and implementation of initiatives.
  • Effectively interpret and apply the Bank’s policies, procedures, systems, and technology.
  • Work under the moderate supervision of others to perform routine technical activities.

What you'll need 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, master’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, International Relations, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. 
  • Experience: You have at least 2 years of experience.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

 Requirements

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.  
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

  • Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
  • Length of contract: 18 months.
  • Work Location: On site.
