What you’ll need: To be part of the Program you need all the following requirements:

Citizenship: Being a national of an IDB member country.

Education: A master's degree student, having 50% of the coursework approved in international development, public administration, international relations, communications or related areas in an accredited University. The graduation date cannot be prior to March 15, 2022.

Languages: Be proficient in English and preferably with a practical knowledge of one of the Bank’s additional official languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, or French).

Age: Be between 21 and 33 years of age as of the starting date of the internship.

Technical Skills: Proficient in the Microsoft package and experience in project management.

Soft Skills: Great teammate, inclusive, innovative, creative, client-centered, results-oriented, with strong communication skills.

Consanguinity: Not have family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.

The first contract at the IDB Group: Be a first-time participant in our Internship Program and do not have been a former staff member, Complementary Workforce (“CW”), contractor, or have previously provided services to the Bank or the Corporation through a contractor or under any other contractual modality.

 

In addition, be aware that applicant will be disqualified if:

  • Apply to more than three (3) vacancies in the 2022 Winter Internship Program for IDB, IDB Lab, and IDB Invest.
  • Do not submit academic transcripts as an attachment to the application, demonstrating a minimum of 50% of coursework completion and has been issued within the last 3 months (valid for graduate students only).

 

Opportunity Summary: 

Type of contract: Consultant, Intern.

Length of contract: Two months. January 16 to March 15, 2022 (fixed dates)

Location: IDB Headquarters in Washington, D.C., U.S.A.  (Remote)

About the Internship Program: It is a competitive paid opportunity in HQ. It provides practical experience for university students to learn about development work and corporate management of the Bank, and to acquire work experience at the professional level through on-the-job learning.

Visa and Work Permit: The Bank, pursuant to applicable policies, may submit a visa request to the applicable immigration authorities; however, the granting of the visa is at the discretion of the immigration authorities. Notwithstanding, it is the responsibility of the applicant to get the correspondent visa or work permits required by the authorities. If an applicant cannot obtain it, the internship offer will be rescinded.
